When used in combination with a testing stone, Gold Testing Solutions are a simple way to determine what grade gold an item is.
To use, scratch a testing stone with the metal being tested so that it leaves a mark and apply a drop of testing solution. If the scratch made doesn't dissolve, then the metal is the same karat as the acid denotes (or higher).
